And, say 'Celebrities think they are too good for everyone else'???The reason celebrities can't meet regular people and do regular things is because the paparazzi is ALWAYS in their face and won't let them live their lives in peace. They are not stuck-up, actually very lonely people and desperate to make new friends. This is why celebrities love the interenet. So why do people assume that they know everything about celebrities, when in fact they don't????

Good point, however it tends to be a problem with people who have a 'celebrity status' as most people are usually starstruck and don't really try to form a real connection.

well i don't know any celebrities personally so i can't comment but i don't doubt what you say. i know the paparazzi are like vultures. i'm just curious though..you don't think there's a little bit of snobbery though..not necessarily because of celebrity status but maybe just the normal income/class thing that usual exists? i mean...do you ever go out to clubs and strike up conversations with strangers, or at bowling alleys, or at grocery stores, and end up making friends with people that don't fit into your own lifestyle? i think that's fairly normal...i mean doctors and lawyers don't usually rub elbows with mechanics and carpenters. how could celebrities be any different?

I don't categorize all celebrities as being stuck up. Some of them are and some of them aren't, just like non-celebrities. I don't think celebrities are necessarily all lonely either. Some of them have a few close friends and family who they keep company with. I'm sure it's probably harder for them to make new friends because they are probably on guard to who really likes them for who they are rather than their fame or fortune. I don't think most people assume they know everything about celebrities either. people only know what they read in magazines and see on TV. They judge by what they see, that's just how people are. I've met some celebrities who were very nice people and I've also come in contact with some who were very rude and snobbish acting for no particular reason. But that doesn't make me categorize all celebrities. They are people with various personalities just like the rest of us and some are going to be pleasant to be around while others aren't so pleasant. It depends on the individual person.

Because people think that they're very rich and living a life in luxury, so people mistakenly think that they must be stuck up on themselves also. Which is not true. Don't misunderstand me, I'm sure if you look somewhere out there, you will find one or two snobs, but they're the exception and not the rule.

I live in Nashville, and I've seen some of the nicest caring celebrities that will give you the shirt right off their backs to help out. So, I know their are honest real world, down to earth, hard working, people out there that just happen to be celebrities.

It could be a reflection of how THEY would be if THEY were rich and famous! Or it could just be out of pure jealousy that they say things like that. What always amuses me is when someone meets a celebrity and is surprised to find out that "they were just like a normal person!" Of course they were just like a normal person! They ARE normal.

I suppose one factor could be that when it comes to celebrities, people feel as though they know them, when in fact, they've never met them. It is a strange sort of one-sided acquaintance. For example, I see Oprah Winfrey on tv all the time, and I feel almost like I know her in a way. I know a lot about her life and her personality, etc. But she has never met me. She knows literally NOTHING about me. How strange it would be if I were to meet her in real life! How strange for HER that here she is meeting someone who knows so much about her, that she herself knows nothing about and has never even seen. I think that would feel awkward to say the least, although I'm sure she is quite used to it by now.

I suppose maybe some people feel that the celebrity ought to treat them like some kind of an old friend, since they "know" so much about the celebrity. And so when this of course does not happen, they may mistake that for coldness and conclude that the celebrity is stuck-up.

Of course, some celebrities ARE stuck-up, but then so are a lot of non-celebrities.

So the celebrity does have to watch out for papparazzi, who want to make every little aspect of the celebrity's life public. NO ONE would want ALL aspects of their lives public, so that is totally normal that they have to be careful and guard their privacy. It is a matter of personal safety among other things. This should be respected. But clearly it is not. So, the celebrity is pushed to a lonely life. They cannot always just go out in public when others do so freely. They can't just go to the grocery store with their hair up in a pony tail wearing sweats or something, because their picture will end up on tabloids in that very grocery store!

It would feel lonely indeed. You can't go out like a normal person. You are "known" by everyone, and yet you don't know them. That in itself would feel lonely. Now that I think about it, I really feel sorry for celebrities! But I assume or hope that the benefits outweigh the consequences.

People feel as if they know the famous person because they see and hear of so much of their life! They don't take into consideration that they have bad days just like everybody else.
I really don't think people think about the fact that this is work for you! At the end of the day, I turn the ringer off on my phone and work is done for me.... I hate running into customers on my time! I have been in the grocery store with my three small daughters (3 kids/ grocery store... that isn't easy) and run into a customer & they want to hold me up talking "shop" meanwhile the kids are bored, pulling sh*t off the shelf, and complaining!
I have to tell the costomer "call me tomarrow" and they wanna get pissed off at me.

I agree with everything you said.... celebrities are not stuck up.... I suppose that some may be... but generally they are just ordinary people. I guess since fans see them every day on TV or in magazines etc they feel like they are connected with them somehow... but its only an illusion.

Some celebrities seem like they are stuck-up while others are very down to earth. I'm sure many of them are afraid to make new friends simply because they don't want to be taken advantage of because of their riches... I'd be the same way!
