He went there after leaving Afghanistan. He communicated with Osama Then, He communicated with him recently. His Ulema (Religious Guide) could do the same. Libs, Northern Iraq is still Iraq. I also never stated linkage with 9-11. Terrorists have the ability to work independently. Please reconsider and enlighten.

Oh YES Zarqawi was most certanly affiliated with al Quaida BEFORE the invasion of Iraq. He was in Afghanistan serving as a unti commander at a training camp prior to 9/11. He was wounded by US fire & fled into Iran & then across into SADDAM CONTROLLED northern Iraq, not the Kurdish area covered by the no-fly zone (he would have been killed there). While in Iraq, still prior to the invasion, he went to Bagdad for medical treatment, where his leg was amputated, and he was interviewed by Sadam security/intelligence agents about his experiences fighting the Americans & his intentions in Iraq. He was then granted an asylum visa by the Sadam govt. ALL of this is documented public record & was included in the UN presentation. Later, after the invasion & after he had significantly recovered from his wounds, he got back into the fight by going out on his own & creating an independent terrorist organization of mostly foreign fighters. A short time later, when running low on funds & a PR machine, he affiliated his organization with the al Quaida whom he previously served.

Northern Iraq was under the control of the Kurds and was part of the No-Fly Zone. What's your point?

So does that mean the because the nineteen 9-11 hijackers were here that the US government was aiding them?

You're using bad logic.

He was not affiliated with Osama Bin Laden before the invasion of Iraq. It only came about after the illegal invasion of that country. Check your news again for a date when Zarqawi announced his affiliation.

You don't need to look at the crescent news; if you read the NY Times this past week they will tell you the same thing. I wish it would open the minds of the mindless liberals who are certain al queda hated saddam enough to ignore him.....

Ok!

And Tim McVeigh lived here before he blew up the building in Oklahoma.

The unibomber lived here before he did his act of terrorism.

Does that mean the president was in kahoots with them?

True. Hilary & co. are so busy putting their foot in their mouth -they didn't catch the absurdity in their own remarks.
