I want to be a actress but I dont know how. My parents dont believe I could be one and Im 14. I wanna start now before I get any older. Please help my parents think its a waste of time and now that Im getting older Im getting serious bout it. HELP where do I begin, what should I say to my parents?

don't start trying to be famous now. finish high school. take acting classes. Check out AMDA (an excelletn drama school in New and LA) or New York School of Film and Television (also excellent) Go to acting school, get an agent, work, work, work!
One more thing. You are not going to make it unless you're willing to give up everyhting and work your butt off for it. And you have to make sure you want it more then anyhting in the world.

if you want to be an actress, stay in school and get training before you try to go to hollywood or wherever it is you think you'll succeed. it is imperative that you get experience before you launch yourself into the industry. do plays at school, pay attention to any local community theatre productions, and take acting classes. these are not a waste of time. make sure that you're the best of all the people you know, then get better and work harder. try to make friends with people who have been involved in the movie world and ask them for counsel. some will say "follow your dream and just do it" but my strong advice would be to stay in school and train yourself where you are before you throw it all away and do something silly. i'm not saying you can't be an actress, i'm saying that it's unwise to throw yourself into something with which you aren't familiar. master your local scene first.

Best thing to do: Move into a trailer park. So then you already got the trailer. It's like you are an actress but are never called to the set. The rest is just actually getting a movie part then.

I'm there with you! i have wanted to be an actress and just a cuple years ago i figured out i could.....but my rents didn't believe in me. my best advice is to sit down and really have a talk with them...tell them that you will start out small at first...commercials...then maybe eventually into a REAL moviestar if they don't give in i say you might just have to wait until you are a lil older.. hope i see you on big screen one day!

I was dreaming about the same before (your age), but now I realized it is really hard, if not impossible! You must know famous people - actors, or you must have become famous in some way! If you want to be an actress, do not give up, do not fail your dreams....just follow your heart. Tell your parents you are gonna show them that a person is as big as big are his/her dreams!

well first start with some background and work your way up. go for talent shows and practice. perhaps going to school for some lessons. choose what sort of actress do you want to be. opera, movie, musicals. then start small, commercial spots, look for extras being cast in the area. there are many ways to pursue albeit not easy. get a portfolio of your talent and education and experience and send it out. some people start out with voice work.

You need to find a good photographer and get head shots done. After that, it all depends on where you live. In NY try to get in a commercial or too. In Cali., try to be an extra on a couple of shows or movies.
