I bet ya it's because of their open minds. Since their minds are open, they are able to thoughtfully consider and assimilate new information without disregarding it based on outdated knowledge or superstition.

Perhaps it's not quite that we're usually more successful throughout all of history, but it is worth noting that many of the greatest people throughout history were gay.

My theory: we deal with more adversity, we struggle more to succeed so that others can't hold us back. We struggle to overcome the world around us, and in doing so become better people for it. Just a theory. I know it's what drives me to keep doing better. To be someone who can earn the resepct of many and to possibly change the way even one person thinks because of it is my basic life goal.

Heh. You guys.... :)

If heterosexuals and homosexuals are ever going to relate to each other, we can knock off the fashionable historical revision.

Yes, there have been some prominent homosexuals in history. There's also been a slew of prominent heterosexuals. Why are you putting down heteros? That's as bad as them putting you down, and you'd hate it if they did it to you, right?

Let's all play nice.

As far as homosexuals go, many homosexual men are very creative and very sensitive by nature. That's why you see many successful homosexuals in the creative arts, but it doesn't necessarily make them "better" as artists or more successful.

(For example, I think Oscar Wilde's brilliant -- but Soren Kierkegaard was NOT gay and just as talented as Wilde, and Wilde had his own share of problems, some of which I think were intertwined with his homosexual proclivities.)

Hmmm. Hope I didn't just fall for a troll.

I wouldnt say more successful or intelligent. After all look at Virginia Woolf, rumored to have been a lesbian, yes she was more intelligent, but committed suicide. The's no link between being gay and more intelligent however there is a corelation with being gay and creativity as well as mental health disorders(ie depression).

As a living gay person, I am generally happy in my heart with peace, to know the straight side of what people want you to be and the gay side of who I am. Dual thinking helps me to reason in alot of situtations when you find out the people you know, who don't want to be bothered with you, versus the people who do. Like family, jobs and religion. So I literally mind my business and create a successful world for me to live in and love in to the fullest of my ability, without being frustrated on what other people think of me. I feel sad for miserable straight people really who have more problems than I do.

Ah, I don' t think they have been really. You just hear about the successful/intelligent gays because they're well...gay.

And possibly because the stupider ones were burnt to death, or tortured to death with red hot pokers shoved where the sun doth not shine.

I believe it's because we don't have to deal with pleasing the opposite sex all the time (Hetro Married/dating people).

I find life much easier dealing with a same sex partner, there as, not having to worry about this, that, and the other thing (Drama) of personal life.

Us homo's have more time to think about solutions and not having to worry about the HoneyDo point system.

Well it's clear you are not gay, otherwise you would have intelligently expressed your interrogative coherently. Do you mean more intelligent and sucessful than a dodo bird or a cuckoo?

Because they don't give a rat's a**. And the fact that you've never seen a war fought over sexuality, because that would be crazy.

30,000 very butch lesbians and some queens walk up to a battlefield. The opposition would say simply "Oh... fu**..."

They're not. What does it take to make people understand there is absolutely no difference between gays and straights beyond their sexuality.
