i don't know you but where do you work... there's no excuse if you have a job to be living with your parents... as you will see by the responses you get everyone is gonna say your a loser pretty much... society does not accept what your doing... if your happy and your parents are happy then hoorah... but by asking this question you have basically made your self a target... just take a leap of faith bud... get a plane ticket to italy and try to survive... or better yet greece... you'll love it!

Because you still live at home with your parents and you are in your 40's! That is the classic answer to all your problems. For your whole life you have had your mother at your beck and call, cleaning, cooking, doing as you wish, and not having a care in the world. Not to mention the bills...I am sure your parents don't charge you room and board? And even if they did, I am sure it wouldn't matter if you paid it or not.

The problem is that your parents need to let go as much as you do, and you just got to do it! Come on, I am in my mid 20's and I can't even imagine living at home full time, I love home but I like my independence. You need to jus move out, and don't think twice about it. You are old enough now to make your own decisions, and I am sure by now you at least have some money saved up, and a permanent job?

Go out there, find yourself a nice lady friend (cuz living at home...isn't to impressive) and settle down and start your life. It isn't to late to do it, you have plenty of time. Get out of that comfort zone and stop feeling sorry for yourself, for not doing something you know you should have done a long time ago! I thought the bachelor pad was the "in thing"...I thought bringing the chics home to your own apartment was "fun"...dude..get a grip...get out..and start living your own life!

Good Luck!

I'm in the same boat at 30. I have just never been able to afford moving out...low paying jobs and no medical benefits (most jobs I've had have been temp, not that I want it that way...just having a hard time getting regular jobs without a bachelors degree). I'm still going to college. I can't say if any of these happened in your life. Some people on here are responding as if they know you, and they imply you're a loser. Based on my own experience, it's not you...you're not a loser. It's the cost of living these days...and having steady employment. And even if you are steadily employed, the dollar doesn't stretch well these days. Life happens...things happen to hold people back now matter how much they want to be on their own. It's worse now than previous generations had. I think, like me, you are experiencing setbacks that are out of your control. Good luck to you.

Because they let you be dependant. I dont know what your situation is, but slowly get away from them if you want it to stop. Start off by buying your own food, paying rent, your own clothes and things like that. If you already do that, act like a room mate instead of a child and make your own rules for where ever you are. After that, try moving somewhere extremely cheap and really close. Then just take it from there.

Because they have allowed you to be dependent on them - you need to take a step out on your own and go on with your life - you are missing much...

Because it's the easy life. You have no responsibilities. They pay all your bills. If you even have a job, your money goes to what you want, not to any responsibility! Grow up! Move out! Live your own life!

Because it no responsibility, you don't have a family of your own do you? being dependent on them at this age can be dreadful and not too good, plus no female is going to like you because you live with mommy and daddy-get your own place it time.
