Blind, you say??? Hmmmm. Well at the very least, very nearsighted in the vast majority of cases, utterly blind in a substantial percentage of occurrences and relaxedly logical and in control perhaps 2% of the time. Some people say, "Love is war." If so, the rules of engagement are: "always fraternize with the enemy." Another significant perspective to take into account: nature, including human nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.

Of all human activities, none are so clearly susceptible to understanding using game theory as love is. How does a man lose at the game? Lose by playing it by the rules of courtship in evidence the last 1,000 years or so. How does a man win at the game of love? Win by employing the natural behaviors, verbal and non-verbal communications and attitude evolved over the last three million years of human existence. In a phrase, win by playing hard to get. This philosophy works for both genders but it really works for men. OK, with that backdrop, what does it mean to say that love is blind? It means several things:

A. Love is blind means that expecially in the case of women (who are much more attracted to a man's maleness and character and personality then they are to physical attractiveness, unlike the male of the species who is decidedly visual) attraction is dependent upon more important things mere facial looks and physique.

B. In far too many cases, it means that people will allow themselves to be blinded to the truth about the utter and total inappropriateness of their would-be mate and let attraction overwhelm them (prime examples: women who get involved with abusive men; men and women who get involved with substance abusers or people of obvious low character). Howsomever, It is 'attraction' pure and simple that most people sense puts the "ZING" in romance.

C. Women in particular are likely to be attracted to so-called "Bad Boys" who have few, if any, of the attributes of a logically good love partner. In fact, for men and women, both, the very essence of attraction often defies logic. Certainly in old people, love is 100% blind, more's the blessing, LOL.

In the beginning it definitely is. I think as you grow and get to know the person it becomes less blind but if it is true love it can still be blinded.

No I don`t think love is "blind" to me. If two people have the right chemistry. and are happy that is the main thing. The person you are meant to be with is somewhere in the world. I just haven`t found him yet!
