Is it because they are used mostly to advertise towards gay people? I know there are a few who don't but the majority have feminine features. Personally I think women, (like myself) would enjoy them if they were portrayed a little more 'rugged'. Like the guys in the old diet coke commercials.

Hey, that is a really good question. Is the gay population so large that marketing would be geared toward that segment. Do women buy most of men's clothing still or has that changed in the last 10 years or so. If so, would women like clothing that is modeled by effeminate males? Or do real men want to look like male models and dont' think it looks gay - maybe they think women will like the way they look dressed like that. What an awesome question - what is driving that marketing pitch?

I never quite thought of it that way till now...A few models I find hot,but most just don't do anything for me lookswise...mabe because their too pretty.I like men to be men,but care about their appearance as well...just not go overboard on this "ideal"...I think perhaps alot has to do with what sells...and what is assumed everyone wants...which of course varies from person to person.

becoz most of the ladies specially the teens can associate more with feminine look males..
