I would be guessing that you are trying to say 'solstice' it is the same reason most native American Indian tribes celebrate natural changes in the heavens and of the seasons. Native Americans honor mother nature and the heavenly rule of seasons through the skies and land. The solstices and equinoxes carry great significance for the tribes depending on their location and development. I am not personally familiar with the Choctaw rituals, however I would imagine they honor their life-giving spirits as well as the spirits for rebirth of the land.
