Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

1. The author who created Tarzan didn't like the bearded face and hence picturised a clean-shaven jungle boy.

2.May be author forgot to mention the shaving kit probably left behind by someone in forest which Tarzen was using

3. Tarzen himself indigenously developed his own shaving kit in the forest

Because he was English, an English Lord. English men often have no hair on their chests, and often a very sparse beard.

Give him a break. He was just a lad. In a few years, he'd have been hairy-chested, with nose, ear, back and facial hair. In fact, given enough time, he probably would have been pretty indistinguishible from the apes among whom he was living.
