I've been a pro guitarist for many years and have had; Boogies, Fenders, Peaveys, Marshalls, Vox etc, but I always go back to my Marshall. You can always get the sound with one. It also helps to have a Les Paul too :)

Marshall most definately, been in the business longer than Peavey, and plus I've never been a big fan of Peavey

If you got the dough to spend, i would go with a marshall, sharper tone, better quality, but also really expensive, peavey makes a decent product that is more affordable, but lacks a little in the quality department

Marshall. It is an older more established company. They are both good but go with the time tested Marshall. It also depends what you'll be using your amp for. I would still roll with Marshall.

Play them, pick which one you like best based on sound quality. Rate them according to how much 'hum' they put out in proportion to tone efficacy. If you are a poser, just get the marshall.

I like Marshall amps myself, really it depends on what you want more.
