It seems like most places only sell the instant-on kind that do not work with dimmers... I want to buy it at a store, not online.

Most dimmers(rheostats) work by varying the voltage, and these cannot be used with flourescent bulbs. Some rheostats vary the amperage and can be used with electric motors and flourescent bulbs. But of course these rheostats are more expensive. Much more.

There is a company in Reno called The Bulbman, if there are energy saving bulbs that work with dimmer switches, they would have it.

Home depot and lowes but you can only use incondecent bulds with a dimmer switch

dimmers do not work on these types of bulbs because they are florescent bulbs

I think Ikea still has it.. or go to Dollar bill store.. sometimes I see them about $1 for 2 or 4.. is ok... good luck
