There fighting styles are different and the way they act are to. Mugen is louder and he will fight with anybody who pisses him off. While Jin is quieter and won't just jump in a fight, he thinks more and is more calculating where as Mugen relies more on his instincts.

In Samurai Champloo Mugen and Jin r alike in fighting and in strength but they have many differences.Like Mugen fights with a rough breakdancing style of fighting and Jin fights with a lot more traditional samurai style like u would see in Japan.Another is that Mugen is more of the don't think and attack person rather than Jin who is more of a stragist finding the strenghths and weaknesses of a enemy attack

Mugen is a great samurai warrior but he's very chaotic in his style of fighting. Jin in the other hand his skills are the ways of the samurais and Mugen's order so to speak. That's why these two meshes so well together and Fuu also have to break those two up when they do fight each other. Hope this helps.

They are both strong yes, but i believe that mugen is just ...out to get people lol he doesnt think things threw unlike Jin he thinks about things. He doesnt just go out and fight unless hes forced to or thats the way i see it. Hes a quiet guy (Jin), Mugen is diffrent when hes got something to say..well...he says it lol

The diference goes beyond, Muggen and Jin are completly opposites
(Yin yang), and it is reflected in every aspects of personaly,fighting stiles and life ideals, for instance Jin is the example of an ideal samurai which follows a principle of honor, his fighting stile is based on strategy and iner serenity trough meditative discipline, on the other hand muggen ideal is his own survival, his honor is his own reputation and never thinks before hi acts, he lives only for himself(before hi met Jin and Fu),his fighting stile is based on reflex and moves in a g force building rotation swing, as there is no discipline or strategy involved he is self trained trough creativity instead of discipline like Jin...

Mugen is an outlaw and lives by street wits. Jin follows bushido and embodies the ways of the samuari, even though he is ronin.

Mugen is quick to fright someone while Jin is not he only fright if it is necessary
