You can use the iron on a low setting with a brown paper bag between the linen and the thin towel you place on top. This may leave a stain. A better option is fold the linen (wax stained area on top) and stick it in the freezer if possible for space. The wax will retract away from the material on it's own after being left overnight. This also lessens the chance of a stain because you are not reheating the wax to remove it. If putting the linen in the freezer is not possible because of space keep putting cold packs on it until the desired effect has been obtained.

Turn on your iron to a low heat setting.
Take a paper towel (several folded together), and put over the wax spot. Iron the paper towels over the wax.
The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper towels. Keep changing the paper towels so as not to ruin your iron.
If it is a colored wax, you may still have a stain, but then you can use a stain remover or detergent to work on that.

I say use the method alter tygo said to use, but use a brown paper bag to remove the oil residue with the wax. A plain paper towel wont do that.

Use Ice on the wax and then once it's frozen ...you can pick it off as if it were on a hard surface.

try using a blow dryer and a cotten ball...the wax should melt and soften just enough for you to take it off..Once it's softened, use the cottenball to dab at it..i've found cotten ball's work on many things...other than just makeup!

let it dry, then pick it off...will take some patience, but it'll come off...then wash it in hot water, and it'll be good as new.
