Do both pitchers need to stay healthy for the Mets to get into the post play-off baseball season ?

Can the Mets get into the post season playoffs if either one gets injured?

And, where does St. Louis and the L.A. Dodgers fit into the equation in the National League ?

Post season National League picks..????

I doubt they'll make it even with both healthy and effective. The Mets just don't have the pitching. Glavine and Martinez can pitch only %40 of the games. Even if both win every game they start thats still not even a winning team. Traschelle is stinking it up this year. El Duke hasn't been effective for years except for short bursts. Soler show's promise but will likely wear down a bit towards the end of the season.

If the Mets lose either one they will drop dramatically. Even if they have both if both don't do well or if Wagner gets hurt the team will drop fast. If the middle relief corps struggles the Mets will drop. Wright, Beltran and Delgado make a good offensive core but rest of the line up is iffy except for Lo Duca. So this isn't a team that's going to win softball like hitfests either.

I didn't see the bit about the Cards and Dodgers.

The Cards are still the team to beat in the NL. Good pitching, strong lineup. They are vulnerable in a short series though. Get past Mulder and Carpenter and the rest of the staff is pretty ordinary. Though most of their 3-5 starters could be a #1 on many staffs and #2 on most staffs. Good defense, no major holes in the lineup. Good clutch hitting. Ability to move the runner over, steal some bases. Very good all round team.

The Dodgers are overachievers so far this year. The amazing thing is half their starting lineup is on the DL and they are in first place. Might be time to reconsider who they are playing as the bench players and rookies are getting the job done. Penny always could pitch. He just gets hurt too often. Derek Lowe is doing a good job. Gagne is prob the best closer in the game right now. The outfield is a disaster. Cruz and Drew never belonged as a starter. Lofton was a great CF in his day. He's a bit old to be an everyday player now. So I think you'll see LA drop quite a bit before the year is out.

The Mets are very unpredictable they can get into the playoffs with Pedro & Tom Glavine or the other way around. And so far the Mets have been improving in previous seasons but we are almost in the middle of the season so you may never know they do have a chance to make it into the 2006 playoffs keep your fingers crossed.

The Mets have been playing good ball and if Glavine and Martinez stay healthy may even make it to the World Series. If either get's hurt they probably still win the division this year. I believe it's going to come down to the Cardinals and the Mets for the pennant this year.

the mets look strong if they can keep everyone healthy they have a pretty goood shot to win the championship and i think they will they have evrything in place and this is coming from a white sox fan lastyear i had some wierd feeling the sox would win it all and they did ,this year i have the same feeling only for the mets if they can skip by the cards which i believe they will some wierd luck will go thier way similar to the whitesox last year my playoff picks for the N.L. are central:cardinals west:dodgers east:mets wild card:this one is tuff i like the brewers alot but if the astros get clemens its them for sure if not it will comedown to those 2 teams i say the astros becuz they have expierence and the brewers ballclub is young and still learning N.L. PLAYOFFS Cardinals over Astros _Mets over Dodgers ~N.L~ campionship Mets over cardinals in 6 games ~~W.S ~~Mets over Whitesox in 7 games its gonna be fun but i aint complaining Glavine and Martinez are both on my fantasy team its gonna be wild

Well, they obviously have a good team. pedro and glavine are also a big part of their success. i think in order to make it to the playoffs one needs to stay healthy all year, or if they both get hurt, one needs to be healthy when the other is hurt...but in order to do anything in the playoffs, they both need to b 100%.

I think they can go in the playoff, but the race's gonna be hard. The eastern division's hard ! But wihtout the both, I'm sure they can't win the World series.

i don't think they will be able to make it to the postseason without Tom Glavin or Pedro MArtinez

they both must stay healthy to go far in the postseason. i think they could get there without one or both for a short time due to the weak division.
