JAMES
Gender: Masculine
Usage: English, Biblical
Pronounced: JAYMZ [key]
English form of the Late Latin Jacomus which was derived from Ιακωβος (Iakobos), the New Testament Greek form of יַעֲקֹב (Ya'aqov) (see JACOB). This is the name of two apostles in the New Testament. The first was Saint James the Greater, the apostle John's brother, who was beheaded by Herod Agrippa in the Book of Acts. The second was James the Lesser, son of Alphaeus. Another James (known as James the Just) is also mentioned in the Bible as being the brother of Jesus. Kings of England and Scotland have borne this name. Other famous bearers include the inventor of the steam engine James Watt, the explorer Captain James Cook, and the novelist and poet James Joyce.

I just Love, Love, Love, the name: Levi !!! My other favorites are: Liam, its an Irish name, and my soon to be, first grandsons name! I wanted to name one of my sons, Cody Levi, once. But, we settled on: David Joshua Kelley. We've called him "Joshua" since birth, though. Because, his dad is also a David. And, I just wanted to name him Joshua, without the David. So, basically I still got my way. Girl names: I love Cherie' its french. And since my oldest daughter is french Canadian, I wanted to give her a french middle-name to go with her french last name: Trottier'! I also love the name: Amy it such a down to earth name, to me.
