i am 36 weeks pregnant and have been going into labor for 2 months. i was on the breathien but am not any more. i lost my mucous plug about 2 weeks ago, i am 3cm dialated and 70% effaced. does anyone no about how llong it will be before i have the baby. and how long does it take to get 100% effaced. and is there anything i can do to speed this up? i am so tired of suffering with these contractions. thanks to anyone who can help me out!!!!

try having an orgasm or using breast stimulation both can jump start labor

First of all, let me say that contractions are nothing to suffer through if you think about what you are doing to your baby. The longer that little one can stay in, the better. I know it's uncomfortable and I know that you want it to be over, but everyday that goes by that your baby isn't born is a good thing.
I had a 36 weeker- still considered preterm or premie at this stage- and she had problems during birth and after. She had respiratory distress syndrom and was placed on a ventilator. She was in the NICU for almost a month before we got to bring her home.
Some 36 weekers do fine, others don't. I would take it easy and try to not start your labor. The percentage of 36 weekers that get to go home with their moms is less then 50%. If you can hold out just 2 more weeks, or even one more, it would be a great service and add a whole week of development to your baby.
Some women can walk around at 3 cm for weeks- take me for example, I was dialated to a 3 at 36 weeks- 80% effaced, the next week, I was 4 cm, still 80% effaced, then at week 38 I was 5 cm and still 80% effaced. I had contractions from 36 weeks on and they wouldn't go away, so trust me, I know what you are going through. I wanted it to end too, but knowing what the outcome could be, I was grateful for everyday that she was still in me.
Let me add to not do nipple stimulation!!!! It can cause horrible contractions that do nothing to help dialate the cervix. I would talk to your doctor before you have sex too.

I was told if you drink raspberry leaf tea it will help you go into labor, but I tried and it didnt do anything. Other than that dont take anything cuz it could harm your baby. I know how you feel though I was dialated to 4 when they finally enduced me on my due date - its cruel and unusual punishment for your Dr. to let you continue to walk around that far along, but you have to think of it as the longer the baby is in - the healthier it will be.
