I didn't start wearing light makeup until 13. So I think 13 would be ok to start off with mascara and lipgloss. Otherwise, 14-15 to wear cover up, eyeliner, heavier eyeshadow, ect.

I believe in girls being girls for as long as possible...what's the hurry? They'll be women or ladies soon enough. I'd say around 14-16 LIGHT makeup is okay. I'm not saying foundation and everything right away though!

By light makeup I mean, light colored eyeshadow, and pretty lip gloss (no lipstick just yet). Light colored nail polish, and a touch of blush. Just so she looks clean and polished. You know? No black eyeliner, mascara, foundation, etc. It doesn't sound like much, but when given and done appropriately she'll realize that's all she needs.

Make up is meant to help bring out a girls best features, its not used to hide your entire face and give yourself a new one! Also, it's important to teach girls how to put things on properly and take them off properly so they don't have clogged pores or skin issues later on.

I highly recommend going to a professional and treating your daughter to a facial and a little "makeover." Oh, it'll make her feel so special! A little bit of make up is just that by itself, but really taking the time to educate her on the more "feminine" of things, and telling her she's special is really wonderful. Also take the time to remind her that she's pretty without make up and all she needs is just a little bit of it to bring out her most beautiful features.

when they are about 12-14 they can start using cover-up because they will have pimples or acne. as for other myke up, their parents should explain that make-up is an art and that it has to be learnt with time. there is plenty of "teen make up" on the market that eill not damage the young skin, but wearing full make up should be limited to special occasions at least until the gril is 15/16

I believe any age would be okay. It'll be better, light makeup for younger people and moderate to heavier makeup for 20s and above. But overall, I feel makeup is adaquate for meeting people and attending functions. Don't have to use makeup at home, right?

I don't like to see a lot of makeup on any teenager, and I prefer to see none at all on girls younger than fifteen.

Nevertheless, they do love to experiment, so if teenyboppers want to try a little eyeliner and lip gloss then that's fine by me. High school girls could use a little more, but even then I'd recommend saving it for special occasions like prom night.

I think they can wear makeup whenever they want! But not heavy make up! If it's on the right way it looks very suttle.
