y=-2x+n (y would then be replaced by 1, and x would be
replaced by -1)
1=(-2*-1)+n (simplify -2*-1 which would be 2 and move it to the
other side by subtracting 2)
-1=n
so then plug -1 into the original problem of y=2x+n which comes out as:
y=2x-1

y = mx + b
m = slope
y = -2x + b
1 = -2(1) + b
1 = -2 + b
b = 3
y = -2x + 3
