He is the captain and as such is the spokesman for the team. Fifa have said that water should be freely available as long as it does not impede the officials in any way ( bottles left on the touch line) but that particular ref didn't appear interested.
Its not just England that were struggling in the heat, and if you were to look inthe Spanish and Italian fixtures you would struggle to find a match that kicks off before 8 on a saturday
Mad dogs and Englishmen are not the only ones (in world cup year anyway )

Beckham is English; Englishmen can't handle the Spanish heat, because they aren't used to it.

Additionally, England is very humid, being an island nation. Madrid, Spain, is on a plain; so during summer, it is very hot and dry. Beckham is neither used to the heat or the low humidity.

BECAUSE THE GAME WAS PLAYED IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY @2PM and drinks were NOT freely available. Generally, games are played in the evening in Spain.

I didnt realise he did but of course England will because they have no chance of winning the World Cup but think they do Brazil are by far the best team in the World Cup.

because even though he plays in madrid the spanish season finishes in may and so it never reaches the temperatures that they played in on saturday. also la liga games are usually played on a saturday evening when it is much cooler.

i duno, for a couple of mil u should kinda be able to deal with the fact that you play a sport outside. It rains too.
