Only an idiot would come on yahoo answers looking for advice on how to kill an opossum family. And only bigger idiots would give advice on how to go about it.

Get another person or two first and arm them with baseball bats or shovels (or hard boots). Then re-flood the hole. Have them kill the possums by whacking them. That's not very humane, but it's cheap.
However, you can flood the hole and get the other people to trap the possums in bags. Then relocate the possums to a park far away.

A pest control service is relatively inexpensive and a good alternative to trying to exterminate them yourself. However, they have taken up refuge in your hole because it is a good possum home. You could also wait until after dark, when they are likely to be out feeding, and plug the hole up. They will probably move elsewhere rather than try to dig another hole under your foundation.

don't keep flooding the holes, or it will undermine the concrete slab. You could try baited hav-a-hart traps at both entrances, and just relocate them as they are caught in it

I understand your concern but if you just leave them alone, they will move on. - No need to kill them. Possums perform a "good dead" - they are one of the "good-guys". - Yeah, they aren't pretty, but they are VERY shy and harmless to us.
I have had them on my property and they have never been a problem to me or anyone else - except for a stray dog or cat!

Once they're out block their entrance and they'll relocate- Opossums are NOT rats -they eat rats and cockroaches- knowing this - kind of nice to have around.

You should flood them out again and ensnare them in nets. Then you can kill them.

Just keep it flooded for a while, and they'll move to the neighbor's yard.
