I'm 21 years old and I really never wanted it done before but for some reason I want a new piercing or tatoo but I don't want anything else pierced, and I don't want to get another tatoo right now b/c I want to have something with meaning and I can't think of anything and I don't know where I want it. I used to think that tongue piercings were trashy but I don't think that so much anymore. I don't know what to do... someone give me some input.

You have to check to see if they can pierce it first. some people can't get they tongue pierced.. if you can go for it . if you don't like it you can take it out.. You may have no problems if you take care of it right.. My sister has had hers done for like 3 years with no problems and i have mine done with no problems for a month

Ok, so really I do not understand your question. Let me make that clear--you really do not want anything else pierce rightt now and then later you suggest that you now maybe like the idea of a tongue piercing? I think I understand those conflict of interest. So to me it seems like you really want to do something different and like the idea of it and you just want some advice about how you think other people think of it.
Well, do not worry about what other people think of it, like trashy or nice or whatever. Think about what YOU think about it. That is all that matters. There is nothing wrong with trying something new like that, because it is not really a permanent thing and you can change your mind after trying it. It is not like a tatoo that is permanent. I do not have anything but my ears pierced but I have met people with tongue piercings and they seem to really like it. So, I can't really give you my experience with one, so I will not put that idea down in any way. It is your body and you seem to be curious. So try it if you want and do not worry about what people think. Ask people who have had it done or ask the people who do the piercings to see what their clients have said about it.
You will get different view points and go from there to make a decision. Do whatever you want and like. That is all that matter. pPeople with no experience with one or people who just think it looks tacky should not be any worry to you. So, do what you want and what is right or best for you. If you really have no desire for it, dont do it.
Piercings are addictive ( especially tongue rings ) and once you start you cant stop. I ONLY wanted a tongue ring and that was it. Now, I have 3 tongue rings amongst my 14 piercings. About to go in for 2 more tongue rings next weekend.
They arent trashy. But then again, everyone ( mainly men ) assume you would like to ____ their _____. Regardless if its true or not.
However, if you are going to get a piercing or a tattoo. Go with a piercing. Tattoos fade and sometimes become distorted with age and removal is a pain. Piercings, you just have to remove it for a day and you are good.

i think u should get your nose pierced on your belly button but not your tongue it looks like it more trouble then it worth.besides people always brag about them when they r in but in a couple of months they don't tell u why they took them out. it makes u think why?? if u decide to do it just do some research first so u don't catch infection or something from it.

It is not healthy for your teeth for one.
also it makes a woman look slutty.. the first thing a guy thinks when he sees a pireced toungue is that you will perform oral sex on him
If you really need to get something done .. do your belly button.. it is not as slutty and does not show all of the time

i dont think that you should get a tongue piercing i mean what if yuo kiss someone???. and wouldnt it hurt to get it done anyway? i mean when you are older you may regret it and when you dont wear one anymore you will have a whole in your tongue!

do what you want, just do research on it first, yes it hurts but a piercing can be removed unlike a tattoo so if you change your mind after its done, you can just take it out

I really don't think you should. It will be very painful when you do it and you may have regrets later. I never had got it done, but I know some girls who did and boy did they say it hurt!

If you get your tounge pierced you can get this nasty growth called a second tounge. You can get all kinds of diseases. If you do decide to go thru with it, see ifyour doctor or dentist can pierce it for you.

First, talk with your dentist. He will give you the pros and cons. once you know all that is involved you can make an informed decision.
