Because they didnt Think that,'making bad choices,' or 'We have really unhealthy food' would draw in any customers.

Actually, there are some good choices at McDonald's now. Their Asian and Caesar chicken salads aren't half bad, actually, and quite low fat if you get it with grilled chicken, and the fajitas are pretty ok too. And I hear the've got some other healthy choices on the way. I was never a fan of McDonald's and rarely eat there, but give them credit for making an effort towards offering healthy choices.

While McDonald's isn't on my list of favorite places to eat, the food has gotten a lot healthier in recent years; you have to give them that. They have salads, fruit parfaits, and quite a bit more 'healthy' choices from what I've seen. Hey, even their chicken is real chicken now! :-P

Seriously though, there are way worse choices than a McDonald's salad. As long as you don't get a Big Mac...

The perception of McDonald's food is that it is all unhealthy. They have introduced more salads and are allowing parents to substitute milk and orange juice for soda in the Happy Meals. The company has taken great strides in making fast food more healthy. I would prefer McDonald's over TV dinners. TV dinners seem to have more fat, cholesterol and calories than McDonald's. If you really want to eat more healthy, pack your own lunch.

McDonalds does actually have a lot of good choices. Their salads are really good for you and uhm.....well, thats about it. Just don't eat the cream dressing with the salads. The grilled Bacon Ranch salad is amazing: other than the fact that one of those little packets of ranch has 290 calories in it!!!

They are trying to make people think that some McDonalds food is healthy, when really, the only thing you can get there that is good for you is water. They try to make people think that their salads are good for you, but they can sometimes contain more fat than the hamburgers because of the things in them.

The fact that they 'make good choices' is irrelevant unless we know what selection the choices are from. A good choice would be a burger with 16 grams of fat rather than one with 28 grams, or calories or whatever. Often the 'best-good choice' is simply 'not the worst'....
