You probably cannot sprout a grocery store peach-- don't know about cherries.
My peach came from a home grown tree-- friend gave me a sack full-after making peach butter and jam--- I put the seeds in my compost-- and lo and behold! a baby tree--

Unless you just want to see if you can do it-- I'd buy a small tree (small = cheaper) and give it a $100 hole in the ground-- in the fall if your area has winter rains-- spread a grocery sack full of ashes from a fireplace around it within the drip line ( drip line-- where the tree branches reach out from the trunk)-- This homemade potash will strengthen the tree and help it put out roots--which then will put out growth and greenery-- which then..... you've got it.

good luck
