What are some cool places to visit? What is it like there, the good and bad? What would it be like for an American? Are the people friendly? What about english, is it spoken a lot? Where did you go and when. Any info would be great.

1)Lebanon
2)Dubai

These thre places are very nice.and safe. Dubai is the nicest it is a very moden city.it maybe eben more modern than most western cities, it has lots of nice clubs, bars, hotels and resteraunts , beaches and resorts, you'll enjoy it there.
Lebanon is similar to greece or cyprus...its the only city youll see where you could go to the beach today and go skiing the next day...it is very beautiful, people are very hospitibal great food nice people, the have nice designers and nice stores where you could buy really nice clothes, there is many bars ,clubs and belly dancers..
Egypt is a nice city lots of historic places, but lots of poor people...i really like egypt it is very cheap there is alot of foriegners, pyramids are nice the resorts are nice, and the antiques there are also very nice...they have a nice hard rock cafe there and the club at the conrad hotel is very nice.....
and Sharm Alshaikh is a major tourist attraction on the red sea very beautiful...you could take a boat trip and im sure you will enjoy it,.

I`m living in Dubai. and i think its a very nice place to visit, but if you are looking for something different from western countries more history, i suggest you visit Egypt or Lebanon.
In Egypt you can visit the pyramids, al Oqsor and try the 2 days trip on boat by the Nile..
Lebanon is cool too I visited Beirut, i had my own apartment at Jounieh.

In Dubai mostly everyone speaks good English.
Egypt: only people who deals with tourists and some others
Lebanon: There main languages are French and Arabic some speak English

Dubai and Egypt are the safest i think

I spend a couple of days at a time in Dubai 3 times a year. There is a lot of growth there with plenty of shopping and many things for the tourist to do. Americans are tolerated quite well (my experience has been good). Through many parts of the mid-East the actual service provider will not be Arab, but Filipino/a, Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan and Ethiopian.... among others. English is the language of all business there and throughout the Emirates. I have been to Dubai, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and a few other places. Good luck in your travels.

Jordan and Dubai are relatively safe and accessible. Jordan has Petra, a very good tourist attraction. Israelis feel safe enough to go there.
