As President Jimmy Carter acknowledged: "Penalties against drug use should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against the possession of marijuana in private for personal use."
Marijuana prohibition needlessly destroys the lives and careers of literally hundreds of thousands of good, hard-working, productive citizens each year in this country. More than 700,000 Americans were arrested on marijuana charges last year, and more than 5 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana offenses in the past decade. Almost 90 percent of these arrests are for simple possession, not trafficking or sale. This is a misapplication of the criminal sanction that invites government into areas of our private lives that are inappropriate and wastes valuable law enforcement resources that should be focused on serious and violent crime.

Damed straight bro. it's these god damed chirstian evengalist mo-fo's that think that it 'aint all good but there are folk that think it's a "gateway" drug (Fu*kin Bullsh*t). legalise it. There are far worse legal substances availible to the public e.g.
Alcohol one of the biggest killers you can buy off the shelf as it were.so why aren't these christian fruit loops trying to ban this?
how bad are so called recreational drugs?
Surely something you do in you own home not effecting others in any particular way. it's not as if after a couple of splifs you wish to go and break the law (somemore :-) ) by wreking the street or beatting on folk. you can't b arsed, your stoned, but then again this is to do with the mentality of the petrson before the inhalation of such substances.
Should we as adults not be able to make our own minds up?
why are we told we can't smoke this i can understand the control of substances like "Heroin" that sh*t is messed up man. it aint good for no one
if it was legal wouldn't the government tax it?
if so that would it self lead to the continuation of the so called "black market" so they would losse revenue any way
Go to this site: http://www.cannabis.net/justsayno/
this is a sample the missguided, brain washed religon lead (talk about the blind leading the blind) bulls*t out there
but the other side of the coin or fellow brothers @ http://www.lca-uk.org/
keeping it real and fighting through the bullsh*t
make your own dessions but keep it on "the down low" there aint no point in getting nicked and locked up for it though
Take care and keep it real bro
spell check wasn't workin and i'm so stoned
This goes out to se_roddy your first answer

Marijuana should be legalized, but never will. There are no current systems available to test someone for the level of marijuana in their blood stream. If you ask me there are more deadly things that are legal, such as alcohol and nicotine that have been linked to death. There has never been one death from marijuana.

A problem with legalization-
How will we know when someone is DUID?
Another problem-
If I can grow $70,000 dollars worth of value in my living room, how is the Government going to handle the redistribution of wealth?
Another problem-
How are the tax paying pharmaceutical companies going to compete with the relatively safe and well researched Hemp use?
Another problem-
If we legalize hemp for narcotic use, then what will be our excuse for prohibiting the use of hemp in competition with:
The Oil Cartel
The Paper Industry
The Polymer Industry
Drug synthesis
The Textile Industry
Alcohol
Tobacco
Food
So many things hinge on that monosyllabic word ``should´´.

One theory,,, if marijuana and all drugs were legalized,,, we could wipe out ,,future terrorists organizations,,,,,the Mafia,,,,drug smugglers,,, coyotes,,,,drug dealers ,,, 1/2 of our prisoners,,,,doping,,, drugging,,,drug rape, of adults and children,,,, then our doctors could be charged with the dispensing and administering of all illegal substances ,,,,or medications ,,,,,of course possibly opening up a new more manageable set of problems?,, just a theory,,, from a patient,,,

Yes, of course it should be legalized. It's less harmful for you than alchohol or cigarettes.

No. I've seen what it has done to my friends and I only wish that they could control their addictions.
