If anyone is interested email me and I'll email you the set letter and the information on how Iran has executed 18 under 18's since 1990, even though they've commited itself to both the Convention on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), we want to stop the iminent execution of another. So, anyone up for helping out?

don't underestimate the power of letters, and please don't use an unlikely outcome as a reason to give up, we should not stop fighting for those who cannot, just because odds are against us.

What about the US who have not signed up to the CRC so they can execute adults who committed crimes at the age of 16 or 17?

Having seen, with my own eyes and on the news, what a number of under-18s are capable of, I do not see why they should be spared the death penalty.

By the age of 14, I believe that every person has the ability to tell the difference between right and wrong. Many believe this age of awareness comes much earlier - say at 10 years (the age of criminal responsibility in the UK). I think that murder, violent rape and acts of extreme violence with intent should be punished regardless of age.

That being said, I do not agree with Iran attaching the death penalty to certain crimes. Adultery is punishable by stoning to death for example, this I believe is unacceptable.

However, murderers should suffer the ultimate penalty. There is no death penalty in the UK where I live, but I do not disagree with it.

When it comes to Iran I wish you good luck, but sadly you will not get anywhere with these people. They are extremist in charge of that country and honestly; if the request for action is coming from a free country like the US it will probably not only be ignored but exasberated (sp)

A free country like the US that has a history of sentencing minors to death.

Good luck with your plan.

if they're breaking the law bad enough to warrant the death penalty, age is irrelevant.
