We never used an atomic bomb on the Soviet Union.

Nuclear weapons have been used exactly twice in combat. Both times, they were dropped by the US, and they were dropped on Japan. Japan and the Soviet Union, or Russia, if you prefer, are two different countries.

The U.S.S.R. was only an ally of conviniance, FDR was the only one who thought peace could ever be achieved with them, and by that time he was becoming a senile old man, some western generals wanted to push right on through to Moscow.

And are you talking about the Cold War, when Russia and the US were rattling their sabers?

During WWII, Russia was our ally.
