Yes, Glasgow is a safe city for a tourist to walk around in during the day. But like any city, if you don't know the territory, you are better off to do your walking around in the daytime, rather than after dark. Most of it is safe, day or night, but there are a few areas you're best staying out of late at night. Ask your concierge or landlord if you're concerned, and they'll spell it out for you.

Yes as long as you stay to the city centre and the West End(byres rd area) day or night you will be as safe or safer than in any other city of comparable size.If you wish to visit other areas in Glasgow then know where you are going and try not to look too much like a tourist. Most Glaswegians are very friendly and help-full and will help you out if they can(avoid groups of youths in tracksuits and burberry clothing we call them neds, you'll call them thieving Ba****ds if you have a run in with them).Enjoy your visit.

It's probably safer for tourists than some of the population. Lots of knife crime but usually between the natives.
