At 40 after a suddent stress, my hair went from graying to suddently white almost all over. This took about five years. Now I think, and others have noticed, some black is coming back. Is this possible, and what could cause this. I am in good health.

See, tho. You were NOT in good health at one time. Worry, stress, bad diet, sickness, bad circulation, and poor hygiene can ALL make your hair fall out. Like you said, NOW you are healthy, so just enjoy the thought your hair IS coming back at all!! YAY! My aunt's did the same thing after cancer. It came back dark, also. So dark, everyone thought she used color.

It is possible, since the sudden stress is gone. Don't complain about it as your natural color returns. To aid the process, you can make a strong tea from the herb yarrow and use it as a hair rinse.
