You might not yet be feeling fetal movement. Most women dont feel movement until between 19 and 22 weeks. I felt movement early, but im on my third pregnancy. With my 1st one i didnt feel movement until about 20 weeks and was so worried. My doctor told me to be patient, because they were picking up the fetal heartbeat. If your worried, call your ob/gyns office and ask the nurse if you could come in for a quick heartbeat check.

If you are already 18 weeks along, then the heartbeat must be detectable. Go to an OB/GYN and request to have your child's heartbeat taken. Another way to tell is to have the hcG (human growth hormone) level tested in you. If there is little, none, or a very low amount that means your baby isn't alive.
This is only your 18th week, and if you still don't feel the child do not panic, some women don't feel it until their 22nd week.
If you have not gone to an obstetrician yet, that is a grave mistake. They would have guided you throughout your pregnancy to make sure you and your baby will be healthy.
If you don't have one, make an appointment at once. You should reflect on your choices - are you taking any over-the-counter medications? Are you eating correctly and putting on weight (you should have gained about 10 pounds by now, at least)? Are you indulging in any vices, even a little, like having a cigarette now and then and a glass of alcohol every so often? Have you been tested for any STD's, UTI's or other problems? Any of those things could cause a miscarriage.
What could be wrong is that you could have a molar pregnancy, which is characterized by a uterus expanding too quickly and a baby that will not carry to full term and will most likely be miscarred. As most miscarriages happen before 12 weeks, and nearly all before 20 weeks, I hope it is not a molar pregnancy. After 20 weeks it is considered a still birth.

If you are really worried go to a doctor. but sometimes you dont feel much or nothing at all until a little later. Thats because the baby is so small and there is still so much space in there. As the baby grows there wont be that much space and youll really feel it kick and turn. sometimes you can even see moving lumps on your belly from the baby pushing, u know like streching. its pretty weird but cool.

Go to a doctor or the e.r. You need to find comfort in knowing what is going on. Then afterwards go to wal-mart and pick up a babybeats heart monitor in the baby accessories. This really helped me cause my baby didn't move alot either and I would just listen to his little heart beat and know that everything was alright.

correction on the first answer: your baby is developed, and it should be moving, but maybe you just dont know what to feel for, or etc. A lot of factors fall into that catagory. If this is your first child, it is going to be a bit longer for you to feel it move. If your to worried about it talk to your OB/GYN. Good luck with your baby!!!

If I thought there was a chance that my baby was dead, I would tell my Dr my concerns about this and have him do an Ultra Sound to make sure it's okay. Good Luck.

If you are unsure, please go to your doctor or the nearest ER! Secondly, have you felt your baby kick already? Some women do not feel movement until later on in the pregnancy. If you have and you know your baby's pattern and you have not felt your baby move, please go get checked out. Good luck sweetie.
