It is not fun. Not even a little bit. But the effect is nice and once you have had a few you get used to the pain. I get everything (eye brows, under arms, bikini ) done every other week. I take some aspirin before I go in and a have a drink that night when I leave. It pays to have a good waxer because I think the pain is less.

It's only severely painful for a few seconds. If you want, you can take some pain killers like aspirin or something a few moments before you get the wax. I read that doing so will ease the pain. I read that AFTER I got it waxed...

if you go to a reputable salon or an esthetician reccommended by someone you trust it's not so bad.
they should have topical anesthetic and roll on hot wax.
also be sure they trim your hair first and powder your skin before applying wax.
be sure the wax is applied in the direction of hair growth and removed the opposite way.
do not let them use paper strips, they can rip, ask for cloth muslin to be safe.
these steps make it a pretty tolerable experience.
i would rather wax because waxing lasts so much longer than shaving and doesn't get prickly.

"I haven't ever had one, and I know that I never will... So if I were u I go to CVS and buy myself one of those bikini razors instead!" I've seen some of my friends eyes roll back, just by getting their eyebrows done, and that was enough to convince me that I should "Never" have anything waxed!

I've done them myself and they sting a bit. Take an advil beforehand. Perhaps using an ice cube to numb the area would help also. Depends on how sensitive to pain you are though.

Not very painful. Bite your teeth and do it! The more often, the lesser pain.
