Figure out HOW you learn best. I learn best by organizing information into visual charts, tables, and other images. My best use of time is creating and compiling the information that I am studying into this form. It is also easier for me. Other people learn easier by making sound representations of material, songs poems, chants.
Make your methods of studying more interesting and the material will be easier to remember, according to your best way of receiving information.

Break it up into chunks. Tell yourself, "I will read five pages, then I will get a snack (or play a game for five minutes, or read a web page, or listen to a track on a CD, etc.)" Then do it! Just make sure you follow through and ONLY play for the amount of time you said you would between study times, or you will get stuck having fun and get no studying done.
Promise yourself little rewards. If you get the grade you want on the test, you can buy yourself a toy!

I was the same way in college, but if you just set little goals at first, ( I will study for an hour, then go out for ice cream), then increase it, it will be easier. Once you start seeing the results, like an A on a test, or a "Good job" written on one of your papers, you will want to keep up the pace. Good luck
