It does depend on your mood and, of course, the kind of horror you like. I'm a bit of a slasher fan so Friday 13th Parts 1& 2, the Scream films, Prom Night etc are all good for that (although I prefer Halloween 2 to Halloween, for which I should probably be harangued) Then there's more supernatural stuff like The Fog and the Prince of Darkness. I love The Fog (not the remake) Other favourites depending on mood - Alien, Dawn of the Dead (both original and remake), From Dusk Til Dawn (road/gangster/vamp movie all rolled into one) Dog Soldiers ("Sausages!"), The Frighteners, Nightwatch (when are the rest coming?), The Prophecy, The Relic, Deep Rising, Shaun of the Dead (comedy/horror), Long Time Dead, Nightbreed... I can't think of anymore off the top of my head right now, need to go to sleep, but a couple of those should get you going, so to speak.

It depends why you watch horror movies. I personally think they are funny. Having said that, you cannot go wrong with any of the Nightmare on Elm Streets. Sorry but i'm a bit old school.
