I would slap them in the face, screaming sexual harassment(had to be different!)......no, really, I would say 'Hello' back! Why ever would I not!?
A stranger is just a friend you've not met yet.
If they thought they knew me, but I couldn't remember them, I'd tell them that fact too, rather than risk the embarrassment of crossed wires or a misunderstanding.

i would just say hi back n then look the other way but if u where to start a convo then i would tell them that i dont remember meeting them sorry

Smile or say "hi." -- If the person appears to be drugged up or a maniac I start walking at a much faster pace. :D

I am an overly friendly person and I would smile, say hi back, and ask how they are.No big deal, I highly doubt they want to stalk you or whatever.
