The counter offer, Ortiz for Halladay is good. However, try Thome for Pedro. If either one of those trades don't work, then DO NOT accept the current trade: Ortiz and Thome for Halladay and Pedro.
Then again, why am I saying that. I have both Halladay and Santana on my team.

you need a 1B if you trade both Thome and Ortiz. Ortiz for Halladay is more workable. God know why he wants 3 first basemen! He can only play 2 of them in most leagues. Personally, I'd try to keep Ortiz and trade Thome who's much more of an injury risk. You could use some more speed too. Maybe include both SSs to upgrade your speed if Ortiz is involved. If you can get Pettitte very cheaply, he may be due for some improved play. Contact me if you want more input.

That's a though one.

Pedro is one of the elite pitchers in the league and he'll get you a lot of strikeouts. Roy Halladay's doing pretty good too.

But Ortiz and Thome will put up great offensive stats by the end of the year.

My advice, make a counter offer.

Give him Jim Thome for Pedro Martinez.

Good luck!

I would agree with making the counter offer (Ortiz for Halladay). Acquiring either pitcher will make your pitching solid, and you would be opening up a weakness in your lineup at 1B by giving up both Ortiz and Thome. Good luck!!! :)

i can see why you would like to make that play because i don't think you have a strong pitching staff. But if you trade both 1st baseman you wont have anyone else to play first.

Plus i think you would be giving up too much. I would make a counter offer

Thome or Ortiz for Pedro Martinez

No, you are giving up too much for them. Im sure you could get Johan Santana for Ortiz or Thome alone. YOu are getting too little and giving up way to much. Your team will be really hurt if you trade both Thome and Ortiz away, and I think giving either of them away for a pitcher that isnt Santana isnt smart.

This is a very interesting trade...I would say no...you'll be losing a lot of power on HR's. He's losing Wins and K's, but with both Konerko, Ortiz, and Thome, he's going to trade one of them to another team. That's what I think...

counter the offer and trade jim thome for roy halladay who is pitching great right now. besides, jim thome will just get injured. you need pitchers more than anything, but dont trade both pitchers. do what i suggested above. all you need is one influential pitcher.

make the counter offer. look to see if broussard, uttely, or berkman is avaliable in your league just in case because you will be left with no first baseman.
