Yes. the pros start playing junior tournament tennis at 12-14 yrs old. Even college players miss the curve. Enjoy rec tennis.

Most of the professionals start picking up a racquet when there about 5 and often younger. They are already in tournaments when they're about 10s and 12... By the time they're 16 they've likely entered the ATP and WTA tours. As for learning it's possible, but extremely difficult with little to no chance of coming out a pro. The kind of camps/schools that produce pro material usually are in the neighborhood of 40,000 a year, and they would be able to set you up if you showed a lot of promise. If you were to do it on your own it'd be good to get a sponsor if you were able, and beat players they have there to get money and then gain points by playing maybe doubles where it's a little easier to get more. Very few make it so it'd be a lot of work and many kids who've played their whole lives don't even get the opportunity so don't give up and as for the old people playing those people have been there since their teen years.

well i'm afraid to say but 23 is too old an age to "start" tennis for becoming a pro.
there are some players who have started tennis lately. eg- marat safin started from 14 years, but 23 is late for reaching a pro level. but you can reach state level and even national till you are 30 if you really focus hard on your game.
Hyderabad is a very good city in india for playing tennis. you dont need to join camps, but you need to join academies and take individual classes by contacting coaches from the academies. i can't tell you the name of any academy as iam not living in hyderabad. any academy can take coach a person of any age

sure, you can learn to play tennis but I doubt that you'll be successful in the pro circuit. you'll just be embarassed after you've been beaten by a player much younger than you are. you're too old because most of the pros started playing tennis in a much younger age like 4-6! so i suggest dont get your hopes high!

Unless you have years of practice and training, as well as competitions under your belt, yes, you're too old. I suspect that you don't have the experience or you would already have the answers.

If you've never played tennis before, yes. Unless you've been practically playing your whole life, there's little chance you can make it big.
