Argon, helium, krypton, neon, radon, and Xenon dont fuse with other gases, and therefore because they dont mix, were known as the "noble gases" like nobles who didnt mix with the peaseats.

on the hot periodic table the Noble gases or inert gases are column 18. it is understood that they have been renamed Noble gases because of the fact the nobles sat around and didnt do any artwork and the inert gases do no longer react so as that they do no artwork. They make up below one % of the ambience. They have been chanced on as quickly as we first did fractional distillation of liquid air. The all are used in places the place we don't choose reactions. Helium replaces hydrogen in balloons, after the Hindenberg Neon is used in neon lights for advertising. Argon is used interior gentle bulbs to avert the filament from burning up. Xenon is used in strobe lights. Radon is radioactive and we would desire to avert it. human beings have their residences checked to confirm no count if it is modern-day in the basement. it is produced by utilising the degeneration of uranium in rocks.

The noble gases are called so because the are relatively less reactive than all the other available elements. They are all placed in Group18 of the periodic table. The elements according to their position are :
---------------------------------------------------
Name | Sym. | Electronic configuration
----------------------------------------------------
helium | He | 1s2 ( 2 electrons in Ist shell )
neon | Ne | [He]2s2 2p6 ( 2+6 = 8 electrons in IInd shell )
argon | Ar | [Ne]3s2 3p6 ( 2+6 = 8 electrons in IIIrd shell )
krypton | Kr | [Ar]3d10 4s2 4p6 ( 2+6 = 8 electrons in IVth shell )
xenon | Xe | [Kr]4d10 5s2 5p6 ( 2+6 = 8 electrons in Vth shell )
radon | Rn | [Xe]4f14 5d10 6s2 6p6 ( 2+6 = 8 electrons in VIth shell )

----------------------------------------------------

As you can note from the electronic conf. that each element has 2/8 electrons i.e. full octet in the outer shell. So its rather difficult for them to bond with other chemicals to form a compound & hence are less reactive. All these gases are monoatomic too!

However Helium, Neon & Argon are not known to form any compounds till date, but Krypton forms KrF2 with flourine & Xenon also combines with oxygen & flourine to form wide range of compounds. Radon is radioactive.

Because they are so stable they almost don't react with anything. They are noble hehe.

They refuse to mix with other chemicals.
