Yes, they play tennis in Canada--- here are are their top players. 1. Daniel Nestor he is one of the Top Doubles players in the world, he has even been ranked #1 in the world in doubles and #58 in the world in singles at one time. Currently he is ranked around #7 in the world in doubles.
2. Frank Dancevic is a Top Challenger player and is ranked around #125 in the world.
3. Frederic Niemeyer is ranked around #190 in the world
Also Greg Rusedski grew up playing Davis Cup for Canada but later changed his citizenship Great Britian. He has been ranked as high as #4 in the world and is one of the best players to ever come out of Canada. However most of the citizens of Canada have grown up as loyal Hockey fans and that sport dominates the newspaper headlines. So Yes they play tennis, but it is not as popular as Skiing and Hockey. This is why Canada does not produce more tennis players because their best athletes are usually growing up playing Hockey, Skiing, or figure skating.

Of course they play tennis in Canada. Tennis is played everywhere in the world!

Canadians aren't the best tennis players because Canada is situated in such a cold part of the world that its summer outdoor tennis season (when it costs nothing to play tennis) is much too short.

For the very same reason, Canadians excel at winter sports, and especially at hockey.

yes "they" (we) play tennis in Canada. french influence, not really the french tend to stay to Quebec, and a few cities in the martimes and Ontario, besides the french who originally setled here were not tennis players by any means. But that doesn't mean that the game is not played here.

the french settled in canada in the early 1600's and most of them were peasants... not 18th century aristocrats
