I just completed my junior year and anticipating all of the senior activities, such as prom. I looked at some of the senior dresses this year. I want something prissy, puffy, and princess-ish, and instead I've been seeing A LOT of cabaret style dress with cuts here and cuts there. It's really tacky too me, and NOT acceptable for prom. Do you(fellow teens, parents of teens, anyone) agree?

OMG! I sooo agree! A lot of prom dresses are down right slutty. Nowadays prom is just another HUGE loud party. I want to look like a princess, dance like a princess and have fun.

I'm not too much into puffy dresses, but I agree with you.... in my college prom only my small group of friends and I were the only ones who wore long evening dresses.... that's your night, girl.. look like a princess or an academy-award-winning actress!!!

Prom never was elegant... it's always been an excuse to get drunk and have sex with someone you just met. Keep looking and you'll find a dress you like, but don't expect everyone else to be dressed the same way.

So step out on your own and wear what YOU want. If you can't find it, sew it yourself. You've got lots of time to work on it, and there are some yummy patterns for just what you describe.

I THINK PROMS ARE GETTING MORE COMMERCIAL LIKE EVERYTHING. EVERYONE TRYING TO OUT DO EACH OTHER. NOT TO MENTION THE EXPENSE!! THAT'S ALOT TO ASK FROM HIGH SCHOOL KIDS. MAYBE THE SCHOOL WOULD LIKE TO CHIP IN?
