okay . .while I have the floor . . .

Nothing annoys me more then when I see something on eBay and some numbnut starts bidding agressively well before the action is going to end. All you're going to do is drive up the price because someone who wants it more than you is going to drive it up past your maximum. You pay whatever it is driven up to.

I always wait until the last minute or even 30 seconds and then put in my truly maximum bid. The maximum I'm willing to pay.

It leaves little time for someone to counter and if they do, they are unlikely to exceed my maximum on the first try as they don't want to over-commit themselves (then, they are out of time).

I'm willing to bet that you will be outbid on all 4 auction as others are going to jack up the price and outbid you . . . you've shown your cards too early by bidding your maximum (with enough time to spare to submit a Yahoo Answers question).

Next time, only bid on auctions that end early sunday morning in your time zone. Wait until the last minute to make your stand.

Good luck.

At the end of the auctions you will receive an email stating how much you pay. As of right now, you only pay the current bid because your max bid hasn't been reached yet.

well depends if other people bid, just keep an eye on the current price, and if it reaches the end and your the winner bidder u pay the current price or end price.
this is all explained on the ebay site.

The winning price, not the maximum price you set.

The price you pay is whatever price is there when the auction ends.

MMurphy - You are exactly right. I have never lost and I do it that way.
