I lived there for a while and i liked it. i thought people there are friendly and for some reason americans in their own country were a lot nicer than the ones living outside. americas got cool stuff and its a nice place. the only bad thing i do not like about america is its govt., george bush, and some americans(some) who seem i dont know, but full of themselves? yeah but most are really nice.

Through alot of travel to different countries I have found that every country has a definite "cultural" identity or flavor. A generalization of personality type and ways of thinking that does indeed affect each individual within that country to varying degrees. These general traits have many good aspects aswell as bad. No country is an exception.

Where you find the unique differences is when you get to know each person on an individual basis. I would say on the whole I am not that attracted to the larger "cultural" identity of the U.S. but I have a lot of american friends whom I love dearly. I have individuals that I am friends with in Mexico that I also love even though I see a lot of problems with the overall cultural type of Mexico in general.

I spent time in Rwanda, and although due to it's past Rwanda has a lot of difficulties with poverty and violence within it's own region, the individuals that I got to know where wonderful peace loving people.

After doing some schooling with a large number of Koreans I found their corporate way of thinking and approching life was vastly different than my own, but the individuals that I became friends with where ammazing people that taught me alot. I had similar experiences with the Finish while spending three months in Finland.

The thing is that no one country is perfect and has all the answers. You just need to proud of who you are and not what you are. Enjoy the benefits of your country and also acknowledge it's flaws and be open to accept the differences of other cultures and get to know them and let them broaden who you are.

Remember God made us all and loves us all equally. If you've got kids you'll have an idea how that's possible.

The United States is the best place to live. we have freedoms others countries do not, Our goverment may or may not be what it should be, but as for going over to Iraq, what were we supposed to do? just let terrorists think they could do whatever they like, and have no price to pay? we stayed over in Iraq to free the country from a hated dictator. His own people hated him. If we had not stayed, over there, The rest of the world would have said,"The United States does not care about people, only for retaliation. " It`s basically damned if we do, damned if we don`t. Also, I call the place I live The United States, as does everyone I know. But I`m not dumb enough to not know what people mean when they say America for short.( that last was for everyone who has a rant about people calling this country America instead of The United States of America.)

america is where I live so I like that and wouldn't want to live anywhere else but we have lots of problems here...the person runnign the country sucks, he is running this country so bad, gas is $3 a gallon, we send money to people in other countries but forget that there are people starving right here, and the this so called war just something the pres. wanted to do for whatever reason this should have never happened. The damage he has caused will take a very long time to fix if it can be fixed. so amoung the other crazy stupid thing the govt does its a great place to live.

America is going downhill. There are some still some good people out there but I think over time It is getting worse. Back in the olden days people had more values and morals and principles than they do today. Anymore people dont really care about anyone but themselves. I think it has some to do with the government, some to do with the healthcare system, and some to do with the alcohol problem we have here in this country. Could get into details but don't really have the time!

America is the greatest country on earth.BUT.....we have the greatest terrorist organizations in the world right here at home.no need to go to Iraq or anywhere else to find terrorists.we have the IRS,the worlds largest terrorist organization that has ever existed.and if that's not enough we have the finest politicians money can buy,who are dead set on running us into the ground.
that said,i love my country, there never has been and never will be another nation as great as America.if we as it's citizens will just wake up and take our country back from the lying , thieving , greedy politicians and destroy the corrupt machine that is the IRS then America will remain the greatest country in the world.unless this happens then America will remain on it's downhill slide to revolution and self destruction.

I think America is just peachy keane jelly bean, there is no where on earth I would rather be. However I don't think ANYONE should be put down or belittled for their opinion on their own home country! That is the great thing about this place: freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom to actually have an opinion. Oh and by the way, eyes_on_kane I think you're right on the money!

The United States of America is one of the greatest civilizations that has existed in the world and one of the greatest places to live. In the United States of America, you can be what religion you choose to be and you can anykind of a job you like as long as you have the skills necessary for that job. Before the United States of America existed, the Greatest Place on Earth was the Ottoman Empire because you were allowed to religious tolerance so if you were not Muslim, you had to pay a fee to live in the Empire.

I'm from the USA and this is the greatest nation on earth. The thing that bothers me about the people though is the A**HOLES that demonstrate against the might of our military and our goverment. Maybe these idiots don't realize that our country and our military defends their right to do this. I know it's a catch 22 but if these people were to try this in another country they'd get thrown in jail or shot on the spot.

I think America is Great! Its a Great Nation, full of individuals, that make up a whole. Each pull thier part, and those who dont, we support them, so that they wont starve.

Though, we give millions upon millions of dollars to other Government and find that they arent using it for what we give it for..(the people, but just to advance thier own agendas), we are still generous.

I "do" wish we would concentrate on our "poor", as I pay taxes and would rather focus on the poor's need than the rich. But, I cant tell the Government what to do with my money, I just have to elect representatives, who will do the "best" that they can do.

I wish you well..

Jesse
