If you have yahoo email it shows you in there how you can use the avatar. Also, right here go to "My Q&A" and do "edit info" and it gives you the opportunity to choose, none, upload a picture, or choose an avatar.

it called avator!
in your yahoo messenger click on messenger (op top menu)
and then choose display image
then choose shar my avator ,and click ok .
now customize your avator and enjoy it ;)
