EMO may stand for:

yeah, emo does come from the word emotional. it refers to a genre of music and a life style. the music is mostly about how terrible life is and suicide and hypothetical situations concerning death and love all over a rock beat. and as far as the life style the kids who say they are emo are usually kids who cry over small things and exaggerate their own live to seem worse than they really are.

hope that helps

emo refers to a genre of music, it's short for emotional. bands who are emo sing about how sad life is, or situations in life are, with a rock beat.
