They are still freaked out from watching "Saw". They seem fine when they are watching it. And I've explained to them several times it's just make believe. Any suggestions?

give 'em triple doses of tylenol (or a narcotic if you have any), and tell them if they wake you up one more time, they're REALLY gonna' have nightmares!

Hey, everyone here is putting you down, and I'm sure at the time you didn't realize it would have this kind of effect on them, but now ya know not to let them watch anything rated R or PG13...so, now all you can do is wait it out, my son saw a scarey movie at one time also and had bad dreams for weeks, doesn't matter how much you explain it's fake or not real, there gonna have bad dreams, all you can do is be patient till they get it out of there mind.....

You let your kids watch the movie SAW? Wow, you aren't being a very good parent in letting them do that. Poor kids.

I mean, come on, Saw is known for being gory. Not to mention, it has a mother and daughter that are kidnapped through most of the movie.

All you can do is hope they grow out of their nightmares... Smooth move, dad.

Why did you let them watch that? I'm flabbergasted at why you would ask that question after what you did. My advice is to stop letting them watch scary movies and maybe rent some Disney movies. Nothing says loving like a good spoonful of sugar.

You should keep your kids from watching movies like "SAW" and stick to G rated movies. You deserve getting no sleep.

here's a suggestion, don't show your kids crap like that

it's probably going to take them a long time to get over it

until you can convince them that they have power over the fear they will not be able to get past it. I am not really a religious person but it always helps me to believe that
"God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of sound mind"

Gotti's suggestion might work!
Just tell them this is what happens to people who talk to strangers and trust the human race.

I love having nightmares. Those imaginative mindscapes where life seems possible of anything.

I just put a TV and a x-box 360 in their room. then if they can't sleep, they can play video games all night.
