how can allen iverson not be in the conversation. he is only the greatest small guy in the history of the game. if allen iverson was 6'6" he would be better than any player in this league cause no one has more heart and determination to get to the basket. he may not be the best teammate as far as getting everyone involved but look at the talent level he has had around him. Its been non existant. And besides u asked the best players in the NBA individually not the best teammate

I think this is an obvious choice of Kevin Garnett.

He has averaged 20+ ppg and 12+ rpg the last 5 years of his career- With each year his total game improves- he's become a much better passer and perimiter shooter.

Was 1st team NBA All-Defensive 6 years in a row until last year, when he was knocked to 2nd team. A 9 time All-star in 10 NBA seasons with no college experience- Has led the league in rebounding the last 3 seasons and been in the top ten for the last 9.

He's also averaged 4 or more assists per game for the last 9 years- not too many people are aware of that... who are we kidding, as of right now- #6 HAS to go to Kevin Garnett.

CHAUNCEY BILLUPS is the 6th beast player in the NBA for sure. What makes him the 6th best is that he knows how to win. He doesn't have to score 40 points/night, but he can if necessary. If another player is hot, he'll rack up the assists, because he's not going to take points away from his teamates just to "get his". He's had the most consistent season, and he has led his team to the league's best record.

and if that doesnt work...

Led the league in assists per turnover (4.11), ranked fourth in assists per game (8.6) and fifth in three pointers made (184), averaged career highs in both points (18.5) and assists, set a career high for both three point percentage (.433) and three pointers made. The leader of a Detroit Pistons team which recorded the best record in the NBA at 64-18.

and why he isnt in the top 5, when he finished ahead of wade in the mvp voting is a surpirse to me...

Does Kevin Garnett not even get a mention any more?

Firstly, I'd put Kobe #1, LB #2, Dirk #3, Wade #4.

Garnett is definitely up there. So are Duncan, Arenas and Iverson.

But for my choice... I'd go with Garnett.

Toss Up between Elton Brand and Gilbert Arenas. Two most underrated players besides Shawn Marion. If youa re talking about output for thier team, Tim Duncan. But if we are going by skill, either Brand or Arenas takes #6

definately shawn marion, ill tell you why

1. this guy plays every minute of every game and never complains, never gets into foul trouble, and has a toughness to him.

2. Great defender, he is one of the best perimeter defenders in the game, and doesnt allow easy shots.

3. He can put an exclamation point on a game with a powerful dunk, or he can use his finese with his patented tear drop floater(best in the nba at it).

4. He is the hardest working player in the nba, he rebounds like a 7'0 guy, and in reality he is only 6'7, he runs after every loose ball, and runs for every fast break opportunity.

in conclusion, if Shawn Marion insnt picked this list is not accurate.

Kevin Garnett. Lead the NBA in rebounds and "efficiency" the past two years.(possibly three or four but I don't know for a fact) Averaged over twenty points per game over the last eight seasons. AND he can play every position.
