For your left ear: Stand on left leg, tilt head to left, and slap your right palm against the right side of your head. Some people advocate hopping at the same time, but it's not necessary.

For your right ear, reverse the process.

This will work, although it sounds stupid. Try it, you'll see.

Bend your head to the side and pull the ear lobe and the water should come out. It can take a few seconds. Try it over and over again if it does not work at the first attempt.

Actually, you want to avoid using Q-tips when ever possible. They have a tendency to push more wax back into the ear than they get out. This can cause excessive build-up, which can lead to you losing your equilibrium.

Time and/or a few drops of alcohol are best.

If it gets to be a problem, they sell stuff called "swimmers ear" which is basically ear drops with rubbing alcohol that you put in and it dries up the water.

To get water out of my ears I always plug my nose by squeezing the nostrils shut, then I stand on one foot lean my head to the side and then I hop up and down on that one foot. It works most of the time.
Good luck.

I have this problem and I've used Q-tips, but I have found that tissues are far more water absorbing so I wrap the Q-tip head with tissue first.
