Unfortunately, it take a lot of conditioning. What you can do is change your reaction toward certain situations. More often your personality is going to change with age, or a life changing experience. For example, a few peoples attitudes have changed after 9-11. People views may change after some education, like "safe" vs "safer" sex. I know that I'm not as an idealistic as I was when I was younger. So I'm becoming more realist yet I try to be optimistic.

In grade school I was shy and a doormat. My sophmore year I took theatre. By taking acting, I learned to develop characters when I was in a situation that made me afraid. The summer after my senior year, I traveled with a company doing store resets for 10 weeks. I decided I didnt want to be the shy person I always was. So I became the outgoing person I always wanted to be. They didnt know me, so who cared? Ever since then I have said what I wanted and when I wanted. Acting definately helped me change.

It has to be a conscious decision. If you are tired of the personality you have, you have to find an avenue that allows you to be who you are and who you want to be. No matter what you will always be the same person. It just takes iniative to change yourself.

The best thing is to find a counselor or group that will allow you to express yourself.

Bad news. You are what you are and the way you will be........You can get therapy every day and it won't help. You can change for the period of time that you are thinking about it and trying to change, but you will go back to the same personality.

It is a brain chemistry thing. That's why people go on drugs. You could stay on the drugs forever, I guess. But when you go off them, there you are again......Just you and that old original personality....Humans are not like soaps and cleaner items that boast, "NEW AND IMPROVED". Just doesn't happen for us.

When you naturally want to act a certain way, stop yourself and act another way. You have to be constantly aware of how you act so you can modify it and therefore change your personality one step at a time. Soon it will become second nature to act the other way and voila you have changed your personality.

Maybe.

Well you could try (it wouldnt be easy) but if you aren't being your true self then people will see you as a fake then no one will respect you. I am guessing you want to change for someone other than yourself (your parents or maybe to make your crush like you)? If you are too loud, just try toning it down or if your shy make an effort to speak to more people. But to change yourself is loosing your integrity and if people dont like you as you are, then they aren't worth your time.

simple answer, you can't, believe me, i've tried, you end up losing yourself emotionally, and you become bitter and twisted at the end of it, feelings you once thought of as passing ones, have a big impact on you, because you have to reform your personality, and in the process, you become a shell of ur former self, the plus side is you become interested in some really fun taboo stuff.

you are normal, you are special, because, you are yourself
