Since being connected to broadband my laptop is making alot of noise, whilst connected to broadband. It sounds like an old bicycle wheel spinning slowly. Is it the laptop or could it be being connected to broadband?

It would make noise when the processor gets hot and the fan kicks in. Sounds like a cooling issue. Have it checked and it probably needs the vents cleared or it is being blocked. Since it's new it should still be under warranty. So don't wait before it expires before you bring it in for service.

It's the Laptop and it has nothing to do with the broadband. Or it shouldn't anyhow, Try disconnecting the broadband connection from your computer and see if the noise continues. It's probably a fan inside your laptop.

Doesn't sound like a broadband issue. Is there a disc in the computer? it may have content that connects to the internet and therefor spins when it connects. Could be the fan but that should happen all the time.

well best way to find out is disconnect the broadband from the laptop and if it still makes the same sound you know whats causing it.
it could be caused by the fan cooling down the parts inside the laptop. but there can also be other reasons.

Try disconnecting and if it's stopped making the noise it means your LAN card is making the sound. check to see if it helps to turn of the volume(older laptops share resources for on board components and it sometimes doesn't work out) if the sound doesn't stop than it is a physical problem and unless you know what you're doing you should take it to a technician who does

Something mechanical in the laptop. Boradband does not make any noise. Most likely a fan.

Most probably this is a problem of your laptop. There may be a fault in your LAN connection card .If you have added any LAN card separately try changing it else if it is inbuilt in you motherboard contact the vendor .
