They are only human. A parents job is very hard but yes you are right and they should apologize when they are wrong. Why don't you sit down and have a heart to heart talk with them. Tell them how you feel.

I will admit when I am wrong but I think some don't want to admit when they are wrong becasue this will make them look weak or lessen their authority. They are afraid of being taken advantage of by their kids and rightly so in this day and age where kids boldy tell their parents where to go and have no respect for authority at all.

Thats the way the cookie crumbles. But its not all parents, some parents will apoligize. Whatever the situation was I am sure that they still see their point of view as being even slightly right therefore an apoligy is not needed

Of course, we could take it back to false ego. But, every case is different. Generally, parents have sacrificed a great deal to raise their child. They may still be putting aside personal interests to maintain their child. It may not be easy for them to come out and admit they are wrong.

I have always admitted to my children when I am wrong, and if I cross a line that I shouldn't I apologize for it. How can I expect my children to learn if I don't set the example for them?

parents have the hardest job in the world we spend 96% of our time worrying about our children the other 4% we stand amazed at how great our children are and that we love them more than life it self when you are older and have children of your own you will understand

My parents say sorry when they are wrong. Then even say sorry for shouting at me even if they were right.

Because they hate to be wrong. My Boss at work is the same way. If you tell him something is perfect and he say's no it's not and he looks at it he has to movew something a centimeter just to prove something.

Maybe they're not wrong? And if they weren't wrong, but said they were, then they'd be lying to you? And then you'd complain that your parents lie to you?
