You can get tanned with make up yes. My foundation has an SPF of 12 (Loreal Translucide) and I put that on instead of sun tan lotion as it means I can go out in the sun and not worry about my skin burning on my face. But it does not stop me getting a tan when sunbathing.

You will tan....
some makeup provides a factor 15 spf to protect you from the suns harmful rays. However, not all products offer this so you will probably be getting little or no sun protection.
You will of course tan, but the best thing to do is to apply some factor 15 spf (at LEAST) with your moisturiser before applying makeup. This will prevent sagging, sun ruined skin - and is of course good skin safety.
Enjoy your summer tan.....safely!

Yes! Definitely! I wear makeup all the time and always get a tan. It all depends on the type of coverage you have on the lower the coverage the faster you'll tan. Also make sure to watch for the SPF level.

I would say to lay out without make-up. That does't mean not to use any at all this summer, just when you plan to tan don't use it. My sister broke out really bad last summer from laying out in the sun while wearing makeup, however she could've done something else as well, just be cautious!

I've never really thought about that. That is a very good question.
But if you're going to go tanning, I'd just not put on any base. Eyeliner, lipstick, etc would be ok I'm sure, but base would be covering your skin on your face from the uv rays. I would think.

yep its possible to get tanned wearing make up as it dose not contain sunscreens, unless you use a foundation with sunscreens in, but most foundation isn't sutable for wearing when sun bathing. I tend to not wear foundation in as sometimes as it wears off with the sweat or my skin burns because of not wearing any sunscreen. So what im doing now instead of wearing foundation i use nivea summer skin face moisturiser to get a bit of a tan and it has sunscreen in to protect my skin.

Some makeup has sunscreen in it. But it's usually not as strong as regular sunscreen. You will still get a tan or even burn, particularly if your makeup has no sunscreen in it. Neutrogena makes an oil free lotion with sunscreen in it. Try it. It does work.
